Leaps and Bounds Bursary Recipient Announced

Congratulations to circus practitioner, Winter Chapman, on receiving TNA's Access & Equity Bursary to attend Leaps and Bounds: APAM x Honey Pot during Adelaide Fringe.

Winter's love of the creative arts and the stage have led her to work as an acrobat, a multi-instrumentalist, a sound engineer, and composer. She is particularly interested in interdisciplinary art, and the arts’ capacity for expression and connection. As a transgender artist, Winter wants to put more role models on stage for gender diverse people and hopes to inspire queer youth to find confidence in themselves.

Winter's artistic practice has been shaped by her exploration of identity, and by a personal journey through injury, all of which have shaped the ways in which she approaches creative work. Through these experiences, she has deepened her work in theatre tech, her desire to investigate the intersection of her passions, and found the value of exploring the small moments that often get missed

TNA is thrilled to be able to support Winter to attend and pitch at this international marketplace with her peers later this month. The event also includes a program of professional development and networking opportunities.

“This is my first major arts marketplace event, and I am super keen to participate and hopefully find opportunities for my work."

This bursary was open to circus practitioners who are facing significant barriers of access and equity. Eligible applications were placed into a lottery and the recipient was selected at random.
