Call for Ideas - 2026 Commonwealth Games

Dear Victorian Members,

Please see below an email from Claire Febey, Chief Executive of Creative Victoria. The Victorian Government is calling for community ideas and concepts for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The call-out closes 31st July, 2022. Click here to submit your idea https://www.vic.gov.au/victoria-2026-commonwealth-games-call-for-ideas.

The form asks for an overview of your idea (100 wds) and a description (300 wds); responses to the key criteria about legacy (150 wds), complementing exisiting events/services (150 wds) and timeline (150wds); and allows for other comments (150 wds); but no uploads are required.

Be aware that by filling in the form you are providing the department (DJPR) wide ranging permission with regard to publishing, sharing, editing, etc, your ideas. TNA recommends only submitting ideas you are happy to be made public.

However we do think it is a great opportunity to submit ideas towards a comprehensive cultural program which will leave a legacy beyond the games.

Please feel free to let us know if you might be submitting something so we can get a sense of what the TNA network as a whole has to offer.

Regards,

Nicole Beyer

Fw: Put forward creative ideas for Commonwealth Games – Victoria 2026

Victoria is set to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games and for the first time there’ll be a multi-city model, bringing global sport to regional hubs in Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Gippsland, and across country Victoria.

Victoria 2026 will extend far beyond sporting competition with an extensive cultural and creative program, live sites and activations to take place in towns and cities across the state.

This brings an exciting opportunity for our creative sector to get involved. Organisers are calling on key stakeholders – including creative individuals and organisations – to help bring the 2026 Commonwealth Games cultural program to life.

From public art works and creative events, to live performance – you are invited to put initial ideas forward for Victoria 2026’s cultural program by 31 July 2022. The cultural program will aim to unite Victorian communities, bringing to life the values of the Commonwealth Games – humanity, equality and destiny. Preparations for the Games are just getting started, so this is an early chance to contribute to the thinking and embed creativity and culture into the program.

For more information and to submit ideas, please visit https://www.vic.gov.au/victoria-2026-commonwealth-games-call-for-ideas

I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Regards,

Claire
